How often should brake pads be replaced?
It depends on driving style and the car, but many pads last between 30,000 and 70,000 miles. City driving in Miami traffic wears them faster. We measure the remaining pad thickness at every visit.
Why do my brakes squeal?
Squealing can come from wear indicators touching the rotor, glazed pads, missing shims or dust. If the noise turns into grinding, stop driving as soon as it is safe and have the brakes inspected.
How often should brake fluid be changed?
Most manufacturers recommend every two to three years. In humid climates like South Florida, testing the fluid every year is a good habit.
Do you replace rotors every time you replace pads?
No. We measure the rotors and replace them only if they are below minimum thickness, warped or badly scored.
